Three Layer Wall Hanging

Updated: Oct 9, 2022

This is a good starter macrame wall hanging, that teaches you to connect two sides of a square knot border. It's simple and repetitive, making it a perfect wall hanging to cement the square knot and lark head knot. The finished work makes it look skilful and elegant.

For this make you will need:

18 x 3 m cord

16 x 50 cm cord

30 cm Wooden dowel

2 S hooks (optional)

Tape (optional)

Before you begin here are some tips:

1. Don't over tighten the knots, as it will be hard to undo if you make a mistake.

2. You can stick the dowel to a table or flat surface, but you will always get better results if you let the cord hang down. Sticking it to the door or hanging it from a wall hook.

3. The two borders you create to form the V shape should mirror each other. If your first square knot was on the left on the left hand border, your first square knot on the mirroring right ride will be on the right.

4. The final bottom square knot on each border should be on the inside So it your first know was on the wrong side, you will need to do an extra knot - Do not worry about this, will make more sense when you watch the video.
